This wonderful large shaped book shows 175 of Akkermans paintings at full size (34 x 40 cm).
A special, only rarely used, printing technique makes it almost tangible. The well-known Dutch graphic designer Dennis Koot designed the book.
Separate from the images of the self-portraits that span more than 35 years, this book contains an autographed screen print, the composition ‘Philip’ by Jameszoo (experimental hip-hop / naive computer jazz) and a paperback book with highlights from Akkermans journal annotations (120 pages). With this diary we follow the artist from his academic time. He describes his struggle with the technique, with the art world and with himself. A hilarious report …
