Dat laat dit boek zien. Puur en eerlijk. Zonder pretenties. We heffen de mythe rond de kreeft op en we ontrafelen alle raadselen. We zetten alles op een rij: hoe de kreeft te herkennen, waar zij haar bijzondere smaak aan te danken heeft, hoe zij gevangen, bereid én gegeten dient te worden, etc. etc. Met de mooiste anekdotes. Remko Kraaijeveld en Ronald Timmermans (winnaars Beste Chefs Kookboek 2011) maakten samen dit boek over kreeft voor iedereen. Kraaijeveld maakte foto’s waar het zoute water van afspat. Vissers, tuinders en het Zeeuwse landschap met de ongeëvenaarde wolkenluchten. Het zout, zilt en het zoet. Geen obligaat opgemaakte borden met uitgekiende belichting, maar liefde op een bord in het landschap waar het allemaal vandaan komt. Timmermans vertaalt dat vervolgens in tekst en vorm. Ruig, direct en poëtisch.
Met basisrecepten voor iedereen, maar ook recepten van topchefs van de restaurants van de Kring van de Oosterscheldekreeft. En natuurlijk ontbreekt ook Sergio Herman niet … Ga naar Zeeland met het boek De Oosterscheldekreeft; dat moet je lezen, proeven en beleven.
