‘Rijks, Masters of the Golden Age’ brings us eye to eye with sixty-four 17th century Dutch masterpieces from the Rijksmuseum’s prestigious Gallery of Honour. The paintings are reproduced in great detail and leading contemporary critical thinkers, such as Erwin Olaf, David Allen, Angela Missoni and Jimmy Nelson, explain how their perception of the world has been influenced by these famous works of art. This book is in both content and form a true tribute to the masterpieces.
The limited edition of ‘Rijks, Masters of the Golden Age’ is a work of art in itself. There are only 2500 pieces available of this very luxurious edition and each one of them is numbered and signed by Marcel Wanders. The books are bound by hand and the cover is provided with beechwood boards covered with the best quality cow leather. Various complex and impressive foil techniques have been used for the printing on the cover. The book comes with its own specially designed mango wood table and a ‘Behind the Scenes’ book.
