When the Netherlands went into lockdown on 15 March 2020 because of the coronavirus, visual artist Noortje Haegens grabbed her camera. Days went by, while we were locked up in our houses. That is why she decided to capture the sunset from the window in her stairwell, every day during the quarantine period.
Noortje takes us to her window and lets us look at the reassuring sky. The presence of the wall and the window reminds us that we are locked up. At the same time, the beautiful sunsets offer us comfort and a perspective on the future.
