The book ‘Eddy Posthuma de Boer - Het geluk van de alledaagsheid’ (The happiness of everydayness) bundles 50 photos with captions by Eddy Posthuma de Boer. It feels like a diary, a peek into the world of this great photographer in text and image. Author Cees Nooteboom wrote the preface. He and Eddy travelled all over the world.
Photographer Eddy Posthuma de Boer (1931-2021) was mostly on the road throughout his career. As a photojournalist, he visited more than 85 countries. His camera was always with him. He did not only work on assignment but also did much personal work. He knew how to capture everyday life, depict human existence, and capture traditions and customs that connect us.
Together with photographers Ed van der Elsken and Johan van der Keuken, Eddy Posthuma de Boer ranks among the most important postwar Dutch photographers. His work was frequently published in newspapers and magazines such as Het Parool, de Volkskrant, Time-Life and Avenue. But above all, he was a creator of photo books.
